Marie Jirásková was born in 1964. She studied clothing and theater costume design at a textile school in Brno, and after graduation she worked at the Husa na provázku Theater. In the years 1986-1991, she studied scenography at the Department of Alternative Theater at DAMU. Already during her studies, she worked as a scenographer in theaters and festivals here and abroad. She has collaborated with the ensembles Kašpar, Figuren theater Wolfsburg, Misery love company, Studio Dům Center for Experimental Theater, Husa na provázku Theatre, West Bohemian Theater Cheb and Antonín Dvořák Theater Ostrava. Since 1996, she has been working as a teacher in the scenography studio of the theater faculty of JAMU in Brno. In 2009, she defended her dissertation on the topic "Visuality of the Czech puppet theater in the first half of the 20th century". In parallel with scenography, Marie Jirásková devotes herself to free work, which she presents at joint and independent exhibitions here and abroad.
