Abortion Tales

The comic was based on interviews with five Polish women who anonymously shared their own experiences with abortion with the authors. However, do not expect a brief report or a reportage. The flow of real events is interrupted by poetic intermezzi and supernatural characters, dreams and symbols. The authors interpret the stories they hear in a sacred way and imprint them with a distinctive and absorbing narrative style.

Painful loss and a sense of relief, support and security, but also suffocating uncertainty - the wide range of circumstances and emotions associated with abortion is evident in just five stories. The comic doesn't judge anyone. It's a safe place that gives the characters the space to tell the story at their own pace, while inviting the reader to read it with care and attention.
