Alois Nožička: Komplementární svědectví/Complementary Evidence

Alois Nožička is one of a few photographers who created abstract, surrealist photographs in Czechoslovakia in the 1950s and early 1960s. His Visual expression is very unique; since 1960 his photographs have invariably been showing dumps and junkyards; they are characterised by convulsive beauty with a strong erotic charge, compositional order and strong aesthetics. His photographs have always been better known in West European surrealist circles than in the Czech environment and have been many times reproduced in books and magazines of predominantly foreign provenience. Even on the world scale he is one of the most original artist of late 20th century who express themselves by photographs.
