The Anatomy of the Leap Forward presents works and realizations that arose as an immediate reaction to the violent suppression of the Prague Spring by the Warsaw Pact troops in 1968, and to a subsequent period that shattered both efforts to keep civil society open and lead it to subordination to the Communist Party. and the Soviet Union. The resulting works of art, which marked both the invasion, the death of Jan Palach and Jan Zajíc and the coming normalization. The publication focuses on the years 1966 to 1973, in which it is good to see how domestic art emancipated and began to confidently engage in the international structures of the art scene. It responds or anticipates all important topics and approaches - new geometry, new figuration, conceptual art and action art. The most famous authors of this period are represented, such as Václav Boštík, Stanislav Kolíbal, Jiří Kolář, Adriena Šimotová, Slovak authors Josef Jankovič or Július Koller, but authors from regions such as Miroslav Šnajdr, Eduard Ovčáček, Stanislav Bukovský and others did not stay away.
