The publication is intended for students, designers and architects who deal with interior design. The aim of the publication is to explain the basic relationship between the dimensions of the human body, the parameters of furniture and free space in the apartment. Not only the average size of the population is important, but also the specific needs of a particular client or household member. The book is structured according to the activities carried out in the apartment into separate chapters. In addition to the dimensions of furnishings, furniture or equipment, functional and handling surfaces, desired distances and passages are listed. The parameters of kitchen, table, seating, reclining and storage furniture, which make up the basic equipment of every household, are thoroughly presented. The chapters are supplemented with a look at the needs of the elderly and disabled. The theme of children, whose needs record the greatest dynamics over time, is also included in the considerations of the interior. The book closes with the topic of technical equipment and interior color, which, in addition to spatial parameters, significantly influence user comfort in the apartment. The professional editor of the book is Jiří Pelcl, who is also the author of the Introduction. Graphics by Matěj Hanauer and Petra Roubalová – studio DIP.
