Eva Skopalová & Gabriela Těthalová: Phí

The representative publication Phi is the culmination of an exhibition triptych by artist Gabriela Těthalová and curator Eva Skopalová. It is not just an exhibition catalogue, but a more comprehensive view of abstraction in painting.

The book contains previously unpublished translated texts by C. Greenberg, T. J. Clark and D. Joselit, as well as original art history essays by the theoretician Eva Skopalová written for this purpose. The publication thus brings essential texts to the contemporary discussion of painting (and especially abstractions) and places them in the context of artistic production and theoretical discussion in the Czech environment.
