Fragile monuments

This lavishly illustrated monograph presents the oeuvre of one of the most distinctive artists working today. Sculptor and painter Erika Bornová draws on autobiographical subjects in her art, but she never leaves any doubt as to where the line between fact, dream, and fantasy lies. Her works ingeniously build on and uniquely develop traditional art techniques. They are frequently provocative in their content, which often possesses an erotic subtext, and in their manner of execution, with Bornová using highly unconventional materials and surprising combinations.
The book is accompanied by a text by art historian Martina Pachmanová.
