A monograph on one of the most influential contemporary Czech artists František Skála (1956), a founding member of the group Tvrdohlaví (The Stubborn), member of the secret group B.K.S. (Bude Konec Světa; There will be the end of the world), knight commander of Řád zlaté berušky (Order of the gold ladybug), member of several music groups, e.g. Malý Taneční Orchestr Universal Praha (Prague Universal Small Dance Orchestra), Finský Barock (Finnish Baroque) and Tros Sketos, and a holder of the 1991 Jindřich Chalupecký Award. The monograph aims to map the whole range of František Skála’s activities. A uniting principle is the personality of the author and his extraordinary vision. It is a book by the author himself, without theoretical explication, but full of attractive visual material. The text serves to add another dimension to the images or as pure information. The core of the book is constituted by Skála’s art objects, sculptures and installations arranged more or less chronologically, the author, however, says that “a book can be read as a series of miscellaneous independent images and stories.” Despite that, the book also contains a biography, bibliography and a list of exhibitions, which make it a must-have source of authoritative information on Skála.

The book is produced in a bilingual Czech and English edition.
