‘Hysteria: The transgression of desire’ presents the influence and interest of the surrealist movement to recover the imaginary created by Dr Jean-Martin Charcot in his Photographic Iconography of the Salpêtrière, a series of volumes in which he classified and documented patients in the different stages of the disease through photographs.
