Jan Jedlička: The Temple Mount

There is a variant of the theme Temple Mountain (1966-68) both in drawing form and in oil. The impetus for painting the painting was a dream in which the painter ran up the stairs, where he met sleeping female bodies. Somewhere up the stairs, there is even a nude from behind, which becomes the motif of a separate painting. It is worth mentioning the sacralization of the subject of the image at a time when religion is considered the "opium of mankind".
