Jan Švankmajer: Jednotný proud myšlení aneb život se rodí v ústech

In Švankmajer's latest book, his main authorial approaches intertwine freely. It contains fragments of screenplays, including his beloved tactile fantasies, stories composed of collages, dream recordings, reflections on everyday life, all from a unifying angle of imagination that has no limits, because according to the author it would be a mere betrayal of its sovereign mission. It is she who gives his book - despite its diversity and seemingly random articulation - a unifying line. However, this cannot be compared in any way to the literary development of the plot, but far more to the feeling of riding on the rapids of a mountain river, which, despite its wildness, firmly holds the reader in his boat and does not allow him to relax his attention.
