K.O.V. Studio. Concept, Object, Meaning. Seven Years.

The present publication, mapping the work of the students at the K.O.V. Studio at the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague, is testimony to the unceasing creative process, to conceptual and analytical thinking, to the search for the essence of things at the boundary between art and design, to questioning and discovering, to perfection and the uncertain gentle touch, and to the drawing inwards of the self and the viewer into the private space of our mind. If we believe the saying that everything relates to everything else, then it is not possible to separate the individual fields of visual creation and regard each in isolation. Everything transpires, in the end, within the environment that we make to surround ourselves and that we share in creating. Presented in this book is a selection of students work created on the basis of various assignments and themes in the period 2007-2014. Organized neither chronologically nor alphabetically, the book is arranged primarily to create the impression in the viewer of a long exhibition installation - with routes laid out in terms of links grounded in material, content or composition.
