Kmentová - Pocket Paintings

This book dedicated to Eva Kmentová enables you to take a look at the exceptional sensitivity and the authentic approach of this sculptress. The initial artworks of Eva Kmentová oscillated between tall thin and voluminous forms.  She tried to escape socialist realism by re-drawing inspiration from French Cubism, especially the work of Fernard Léger. Beginning in the mid-1960s se experimented with the imprints and casts of various parts of the human body, combining the casts of body fragments with landscape motifs. In the 1970s, she used paper not only for her drawings and collages, but also for objects that were beyond traditional sculpture.
