Luboš Plný: PLNÝ / limited edition with photography

Limited edition with an original print of Luboš Plný's collage and his signature.

The monograph devoted to the work of Luboš Plný (*1961), a prominent figure of contemporary Czech art, presents a comprehensive view of his exceptional work oscillating between art brut, conceptual art and scientific record. An autodidact and performer, Plný explores the human body in all its fragility and brutality - through detailed cartoon “anatomical self-portraits”, documentation of bodily interventions and text-visual diary entries.

The book was created through successive conversations over the artist's individual art cycles. From the beginning, we tried for a chronological order of the works. This was not always consistently possible to maintain. The individual conversations revealed other contexts than just temporal ones. In some cases, we preferred a thematic order, where individual works are linked by a theme or life circumstances.

The book is published in a limited edition of 300 numbered copies. The first 20 copies are signed by the author and include an original print of the author's collage.
