The book Landscape for Abstraction is an accompanying publication of Ludmila Padrtová's large exhibitions in Karlovy Vary, Kolín and České Budějovice. Ludmila Padrtová has a chance to become a fixture in the sky of classical modernism in Czech art after the World War II, which is more than she could have imagined and than anyone could wish for.
Antiquarian. State: excellent

Ludmila Padrtová (1931 - 2016) has been creating abstract compositions since the mid-fifties. It was secret then and it is little known today. This was despite the fact that, together with Vladimír Boudník, she was the first to devote herself to abstraction in Czechoslovakia at a time when it was not allowed to be creative and exhibit at all. At the same time, she was more mature in abstraction than Boudník was then. In addition, she was a woman, which meant she was disregarded for men, whether from artists, critics or even friends. Moreover, she did not dare to assert herself in any way. Since her inspiration came from nature, she worked with a color that was then rejected by young artists. Today, she is one of the most profiled artists of her age, despite the fact that she is still known only to an audience that understands and admires abstract art, wherever it has been created. In Western Europe, every artist who devoted himself to abstraction in the 1950s was appreciated and is now known. As woman she is considered everywhere as an art-historical treasure, which is properly evaluated, exhibited and celebrated.
