Martin Rajniš Architecture Guild ranks among the most unique of Czech architectural studios. Hence it would be strange if this circumstance was not reflected equally in the publication that presents an overview of its work up until now.

No less original are the texts that Martin Rajniš personally wrote for it to present the background for the creation of his exceptional buildings. And Rajniš, to be sure, does not work alone but with his Guild, where surrounded by his closest collaborators he dreams up and sketches a timeless architecture. The path of this talented architect led from the renowned SIAL studio in Liberec through independent work winning success on the international scene and teaching engagements, followed by a four-year sailing journey around the world, in which he reached the revelation that he simply “doesn’t want to keep pouring concrete”. With his innate and impulsive passion, he turned toward ingenious wooden buildings and constructions, among them the unique Post Office atop Mt. Sněžka, the Gulliver airship at the Prague art centre DOX or a long series of unrepeatable towers and viewing points, woodstacks and houses, that accent the need for beauty, playfulness, and life in harmony with nature and respect for its laws. In addition to a wealth of photographic documentation comprising all realisations of the studio, the present volume also presents selected unbuilt projects and the hidden sources of their inspiration.
