“Culture,” “style,” “form,” “image,” “medium,” “context” or “material” are terms we standardly use when discussing past and contemporary art works. This book is intended for those interested in the ideational grounding of these terms and the role they have been playing in both academic and non-academic reflections on art and art history. Jakub Stejskal works as head of a research team of the Department of Art History at Masaryk University. He previously worked at universities in Basil and Berlin. In 2014, he received a doctorate from aesthetics at Charles University. He is the author of a number of studies and one book which addresses the philosophy of aesthetics, art history, archeology and anthropology. Metakunsthistorie is his first book published in Czech.
