The book reader introduces the Czech reader to the fundamental contemporary works of foreign authors that destabilise the conventional, linear concept of time, which has an impact on the methodology and philosophy of art history, as well as on artistic creation itself. Texts by Reinhart Koselleck, Georges Didi-Huberman, Boris Groys and others are arranged on a scale that begins with the imaginary pole of art history and ends with the pole of philosophy. The aim of the publication is to present and discuss time at different levels of abstraction. The translated texts are preceded by an introductory essay by the editors, in which they summarise recent developments in thinking about temporality. The conclusion is accompanied by a list of relevant English and Czech literature on the subject, which will enable the reader to gain a better understanding of the subject.
