The monograph by Pavel Jasanský (1938-2021) is the first comprehensive publication on the work of this outstanding Czech photographer, graphic artist and visual artist. It presents a comprehensive view of his rich and multifaceted life's work, which ranges from early reportage photography through long-term reflection on the late modern period to painterly and multimedia overlaps. The publication was edited by photography critic Pavel Vančát in close collaboration with the author's family. The book is published in Czech-English.

The book is introduced by Pavel Vančát's text supplemented by contemporary photographs from the archive of Pavel Jasanský, followed by a total of 15 art cycles with a selection of dozens of photographs. The selected cycles deliberately try to present the very diverse work of Pavel Jasanský. They represent both his participation in cultural events, which he documented for a long time, as well as his free documentary photographic cycles and subsequently his distinctive authorial work that goes beyond photography towards intermedia spatial work.

Pavel Jasanský was an important cultural actor who connected many active personalities from the musical, theatrical and literary scene and recorded these activities for a long time, which is illustrated in the book by the cycles Viola and Signed. Jasanský's photographic and graphic activities for the music industry (Supraphon, Panton) are presented in a poster with reproduced covers of gramophone records in which Jasanský participated artistically. Strong documentary and at the same time very poetic cycles are represented in the publication, e.g. Paristory, Fotografie, Botič, Most or Postižení. The most remarkable and least known are the cycles of his free works such as Dvojice, Těla or the completely multimedia installation Divák. The book concludes with a comprehensive bibliography accompanied by images from exhibitions and events.
