The publication describes the development of a prototype of "smart" seating furniture for the exhibition of the Museum of Applied Arts in Prague by mmcité. Thanks to the grant support of the Technology Agency of the Czech Republic, the mmcité team focused not only on meeting the requirements of museum operations and the involvement of new technologies, but also on the inclusivity of seating furniture, which is neglected in Czech countries (compared to, for example, Scandinavian countries), because the client does not have the means for similar development and testing. The project is presented by historical reflections on the development of relaxing furniture in exhibitions (Iva Knobloch) and the development of outdoor furniture (Mariana Kubištová), which are based on the idea of the mutual influence of both types of furniture. The studies by Iva Knobloch and Mariana Kubištová are the very first contributions to the mentioned topics in the Czech lands.
