A collection of twenty-four sharp, pointed and data-supported essays Why Are We So Angry? trade union lawyer, columnist and feminist Šárka Homfray describes the social position of women in the contemporary Czech Republic, where education, life choices and paths of women and men are largely different. Šárka Homfray maps and comments with her own irony on the gender differences manifested in school, at work, in science, in politics and in the healthcare sector. In doing so, it is based both on one's own experience, that is, on women in one's surroundings, and on numerous social science researches and analyses, especially of Czech origin. She discovers that the things that happen to women are not coincidences or bad luck, but come from the social setting. The goal of the book Why are we so angry is to verbalize the anger that the unfair system awakens in women and to transform it into effective strategies leading to positive change in Czech society.
