From the author’s foreword: This book is a first serious attempt at mapping out the work of Richard Fremund, a Czech painter, graphic designer, draftsman and illustrator. Its aim is to present the artist’s oeuvre in its variety and breadth, with an emphasis on the best works the artist has produced during the two decades following the Second World War. Among the works reproduced in the volume are not only his iconic paintings but also some lesser known or unpublished pieces as well as some remarkable examples of his illustrations and film posters.
