In the autumn of 2016, exactly fifty years have passed since the first family house of the "V" type was completed in the village near Šumperk. Under the commonly used name, Šumperák became a legend, the most built house in Czechoslovakia. He was loved and hated. He fulfilled period ideas about modern living, embodied the success of rural modernization, architects distanced themselves from it, and conservationists feared that it would ruin the character of a Czech village. Today, it recalls the era of socialism, when you could not order an architect and hire a company to build your house. Five, maybe twenty thousand, were created. They were built by themselves, so they immediately testify to the taste and abilities of their owners. One cannot ask which of the houses is original. Unbeknownst to their designer Josef Vaněk at the beginning, he released a very successful score into the world.
