Čestmír Krátký started photographing with Karel Plicky in 1953, but he did not devote himself to art photography until 1959 after meeting Jan Koblasa.
His work ranges between narrative abstraction with a tendency to absurdity and an effort towards unorthodox, literature, surrealism and knowledge of non-European cultures marked by an understanding of everything outside it, which originated in nature or just by the way. He took the found paintings as a challenge to understand the already finished unpetential story and also their beauty.
The book also includes his texts on photography, which he wrote in the 1960s and is one of the most critical and ambitious of his time.
