During his twelve years on trips to the Greek islands, Mexico or Central Bohemia, the former leading member of the art group Bratrstvo and one of the most prominent contemporary Czech photographers collected more than 900 abandoned cars. Over time, he began to sort them according to their own categories based on the condition of the wreck or the situation in which they found themselves. Some see rapid death on the road, others overgrow vegetation to prove the invincibility of nature, others seem to dance despite gravity or figure in an inexplicable story. Deferred cars are increasing daily as they become a natural part of the landscape as the ruins of medieval castles or the English park stop. In Jirásek's photographs composed with painterly imagination, however, they most remind people - literally with their sometimes comically, sometimes melancholy deformed masks and bodies, but above all as a reminder of human activity: fascinating creativity, care, irresponsibility, aggression, cruelty, anger, faith or simple incomprehensibility. .
