This is an accompanying publication for the exhibition VÁCLAV RODEK / Metacodes, held at the Gallery of Fine Arts in Ostrava from 10 March to 6 June 2021.

The accompanying publication for the exhibition VÁCLAV RODEK / Metacodes provides a more comprehensive insight into Václav Rodek's painterly thinking. In seven subchapters, curator Jaroslav Michna deals with the formal-content analysis of the painter's work as a whole. The text is accompanied by reduced reproductions of images, which are to help the reader in the interpretation of formal and thematic characteristics. The publication also contains other pictorial material, which contains both canvases presented at the exhibition and other, mostly the most contemporary works of the painter. The second of the texts, authored by art historian and Rodek's colleague from the Faculty of Arts in Ostrava, Hana Vorlová, reflects the painter's personality and work.
