Zdeněk Sýkora: Prints

The first part of the monograph surveys Sýkora´s prints that have been created concurrently with his paintings since the 1960s. Mutual relationships and proportions of both of these elements of Zdeněk Sýkora´s work are the theme of the introductory study by Jaroslav Vančát. The factual note by Lenka Sýkorová then complements the theoretically tuned introduction with a view of the co-author of some of the prints and with some important data. Besides more than fifty large-sized reproductions the book also contains a complete list of the prints as well as a list of sources and exhibitions. As a matter of course, Zdeněk Sýkora´s curriculum vitae is included in the volume as well.

Zdeněk Sýkora (1920-2011), as one of the first artists, included the computer into his preparations of a work of art at the early 1960s. Even though he worked with systems, programmes or randomness, he remained a painter, too; he had been occupied with shapes, colours and their mutual relations in an original way.
