Lubomír Zich was born in Prague in May 1949, where he studied craftsmanship and art. From 1958 to 1968 he studied at the Folk Art School in Prague 4 and from 1964 to 1967 he worked at the Municipal Telecommunications Administration. In 1969 he emigrated to Switzerland, where he made a living in electromechanics, teaching classical guitar and puppetry. He is also involved in librarianship, carpentry, cinema and many other activities. He has been drawing and illustrating for the Swiss press since 1973 and working in the animated film studio. His versatile talent then crystallized into a passion for drawing. In 1996 he opened his own creative studio. He currently lives in Lausanne, where he specializes in drawing and music.

In 2016, his first book of drawings was published in a limited edition of 300 pieces. The originals of all published drawings are available in our bookshop.
