Martin Mainer is one of leading personalities of the contemporary Czech painting. His work is characterized by a certain freedom of interpretation fantasy with which he build a firm centre and a many meanings edges of a theme, virtuous classical painting technique of a light character with an illusive or abstractive fragments, reminiscence of a baroque sensuality or erotic atmosphere of rococo. In 1993 he received a prestigious Prize of Jindřich Chalupecký.
