I Wanted a Different Experience

The publication I Wanted Another Experience evaluates the decades of operation of the Visiting Artist's Studio at the Academy of Fine Arts. Important artists of the middle and younger generation went through this specialized workplace of the academy. The book presents individual semester projects and relevant texts from already published catalogs (from authors or invited theorists), medallions of artists who led the studio in the given period and student reflection, prepared in the form of interviews. It also includes two theoretical papers that deal with the more general problems of art education and show the specific genealogy of Šaloun's studio. The book reveals various perspectives and views on such a specific and unique educational platform within an art college.
