For the first time, this book presents a unique collection of photographs of modern architecture created through the collaboration of avant-garde architects and photographers in the 1920s and 1930s. This collection presents period photographs and their subjects—key as well as lesser-known modern buildings, organized by building type—not only as important documents of modern architecture, but also as authentic examples of a vision that remains an inspiration to this day. At the same time, it demonstrates that interwar Czechoslovakia was among the leading European countries in the movement for new architecture.
